Conversations by the Glass

Each Wednesday join our Sommelier and GM Tim Rawding for a Marsh House Bar takeover!

During the months of July and August, we will be paying homage to one of the OG wine bars in New York City, Terroir, and their fearless leader Paul Grieco. Several years ago Paul started a movement among wine bars and restaurants not just in NYC but across the country called "Summer of Riesling." Buyers everywhere would stock up on their favorite Rieslings and pour them by the glass, exhibiting the beauty, power and most importantly the versatility that Riesling brings to the table. Come hang at the Marsh House Summer of Riesling as we travel through Germany and the rest of the world to discover what Riesling has to offer.

This week featuring: Hexamer Riesling, Meddersheimer Rheingrafenberg, Nahe, 2002

“Like a fine wine, I get better with age,” said everyone who felt life coming at them fast. But honestly, Riesling is why people speak such truths. Just north of Alsace, in a ripe alcove of southwestern Germany, the winemaking region of Nahe hosts the beautiful wines of Hexamer. As we close out July and our German portion of Summer of Riesling, we finish strong. At $15 a glass, notes of honeysuckle and lemon rind compliment a soft, almost lactic like finish in this beautifully aged glass of riesling.
