Conversations by the Glass

Each Wednesday join our Sommelier and GM Tim Rawding for a Marsh House Bar takeover!

During the months of July and August, we will be paying homage to one of the OG wine bars in New York City, Terroir, and their fearless leader Paul Grieco. Several years ago Paul started a movement among wine bars and restaurants not just in NYC but across the country called "Summer of Riesling." Buyers everywhere would stock up on their favorite Rieslings and pour them by the glass, exhibiting the beauty, power and most importantly the versatility that Riesling brings to the table. Come hang at the Marsh House Summer of Riesling as we travel through Germany and the rest of the world to discover what Riesling has to offer.

This week featuring: Dr. Konstantin Frank Dry Riesling, Finger Lakes, 2016

When Billy Joel sings ‘New York State of Mind,' we typically don’t think about the great wineries of New York. When Billy Joel sings “Bottle of Red, Bottle of White” in ‘Scenes from an Italian Restaurant’, you don’t think of waiters popping riesling. But about 3 hours north of Manhattan in upstate New York, the Finger Lakes region is producing some of the best Riesling in the world. The OG winemaker in the Finger Lakes, Dr. Konstantin Frank, first bottled Riesling in 1967, 6 years before Billy Joel released ‘Piano Man.’ At $8 a glass, we will meet you anytime you want (only on Wednesday though) at our southern seafood restaurant.
