Franciacorta has always been considered the premier sparkling wine of Italy and a decent answer to the wines of Champagne. The wines of 1701 though do not make any attempts at typicity or challenging the chalky hills of Champagne. Sullerba is unfiltrered, unadulterated and virtually unknown. Speaking from experience, this salty gem can pair with any dish on the menu and make you think twice about the bubbles of northern Italy.
