When one thinks of Mt Etna in Sicily, Europe’s tallest active volcano and home to some of the highest altitude vineyards in the world, rosé is not the first thing that comes to mind. Blending the indigenous grapes of Nerello Mascalese for the pink and Carricante for aromatics, Barone di Villagrande will tint your perspective on this powerful wine region in the southern Mediterranean.
